An Evening with Honor茅e Fanonne Jeffers
The Center for Black Literature (CBL) at 糖心原创 hosts an evening featuring Honor茅e Fanonne Jeffers, author of听The Love Songs of W. E. B. Du Bois听(HarperCollins Publishers, 2021), in conversation with听Dr. Brenda M. Greene, founder of CBL. Jeffers鈥檚 epic debut novel explores the history of an African American family in the American South, from the time before the American civil war and slavery, through the Civil Rights Movement, to the present.
For over twenty years, Jeffers has听been lifting her voice on issues of Black culture, racism, American history, and gender through the medium of writing. She is an American poet, essayist, novelist, and professor of English at the University of Oklahoma. She has published five collections of poetry, including听The Age of Phillis听(Wesleyan University Press, 2020), which won the NAACP Image Award of Outstanding Literary Work in Poetry and was longlisted for a National Book Award.
