Graduation Application Filing Process
Effective Summer 2025: Eligible students can apply for graduation through CUNYfirst.
After reviewing the checklist, eligible students must connect with an academic advisor for a graduation consultation. An advisor must review a potential student’s academic records to verify聽eligibility for graduation.

Step 1:
- Register for your final semester of coursework. YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE YOU CAN APPLY.
- Email your assigned advisor or advising unit for a graduation audit consultation.
*** There is no fee to file for graduation
Step 2:
- Verify eligibility聽with an advisor.
Step 3:
- Students must file their application within the filing dates. Students and advisors may use the Graduation Filing Guide for assistance. Your status must indicate 鈥淓ligible to Apply鈥 for you to file a graduation application. Effective Spring 2025, students can change their Diploma (first and middle) Name. Please review the Diploma Name FAQs and discuss this option with your advisor before changing your first and middle diploma names.
Step 4:
- Once all grades have been submitted at the end of the semester, the Registrar鈥檚 Office will conduct a final grade evaluation of the prospective graduates. 聽Students must check their graduation application status in CUNYfirst.
